The Sunset Limited - Cormac McCarthy Didn't like this one at all. I found that McCarthy was trying to make his points too heavy-handedly. And having almost the entire play consist of one long conversation between two characters about the nature of existence--how pretentious. Perhaps if he hadn't been so direct, if he had made me work to understand what he was saying, instead of laying it out so obviously that it became banal, I would have respected what he was trying to say more. But as it is, the play was tiresome despite its length, and though I read it approximately three years ago, it still stands out in my mind as a great disappointment.
